The cost savings, comparison is on the entry page, CLICK here……with Geothermal a remarkable 400% efficiency compared to 80% with an oil condensing boiler. Geothermal delivers 4Kw for every 1Kw used in electricity to power the Heat Pump (GSHP). A 15Kw heat pump delivering 15Kw energy, will use approx 3.5Kw cost in electricity. Over 2000 hours use annually , the electrical bill will be £585 delivering 15kw energy /heat/water. (as a guide the same 15Kw using oil would be in the region of £2,000 -1Kw electricity to 4Kw delivered energy).
The key performance indicator is called the coefficient of performance, of which 4, from the ground and 5 from water is the standard of pumps we install.
The new Turbo Heat pump, can heat water up to 65°C . Whilst Geothermal operates most efficiently at lower temps, the Swiss method includes a Buffer Tank which optimises and retains the heat / hot water delivered, whilst giving optimum conditions for the pump to “top up” This allows the Geothermal pump to operate efficiently saving energy. Without the buffer tank the COP would reduce significantly as the temp required increased. The Greenheat survey dimensions every property to allow for optimum efficiencies, of which the buffer tank is part of the Swiss experience.
